Birthday Brunch

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Tomorrow is my birthday, so my friends were kind enough to take me to a birthday brunch today! I wanted to keep is comfy and casual, but also kind of warm because I knew we would be eating outside and Michigan has not quite gotten the whole spring memo!

Soft Hues

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

I am usually one to shy away from any color in my wardrobe, but this spring I have been loving the look of soft hues. Light pink and a warm grey/taupe have been making a gradual appearance in my outfits over these past few weeks, and I am sure will continue to stay though out spring and summer! Here are a few of my favorite pieces, and a few looks that show case my new favorite spring trend!

Checked Days

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

Bracelet: Alex and Ani // Nail Polish: Essie// Rings: Brandy Melville
 Top: Zara
Boots: H&M // Jeans: Topshop
I love this checked top from Zara. It was part of a co-ord set, but since the shorts aren't really fall appropriate for where I am, a good alternative is the classic black jeans. The pattern of this top adds a little extra dimension to an other wise simple ootd!

Designer Dupe // Adil Coat

Saturday, October 24, 2015

Cardigan: Forever21//Jeans:Topshop

Boots: H&M (similar)// Sweater: J.Crew

Lately I have fallen in love with everything Isabel Marant, however my wallet isn't feeling that love. I was over the moon when I was in Forever 21 a few weeks back and saw this cardigan that looks exactly like the Adil Coat from the A/W 14-15 Ready-to-Wear collection. From the black and white stripped detailing to the hood on the back, this is a perfect dupe for the Isabel coat but for significantly less! I love hunting for a good dupe that ends up being not only a good price, but also amazing quality! If you're on the hunt for some good designer look-alikes I would check out Forever 21 right now, who is killing it this A/W season!

Scarves+Suede

Friday, October 16, 2015

It's has been feeling like fall lately, so I have deemed it appropriate to bring out my oversized scarves! I  absolutly love the added warmth these huge scarves give. They feel like you've wrapped yourself in a big blanket, but its socially acceptable to wear these in public (if only wear could wear blankets everywhere)! All thats left to do to compete the most comfortable of all casual Friday outfits is to grab your favorite pair of leggings and a cardigan and you are ready to take on the last work day!

Polka Dot Blues

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

I am ready so ready for the perfect fall weather to start! It's time to bring out the ankle boots and sweaters in full force. I find that the perfect transition from summer to fall is to pair a sweater over you favorite dresses. This way you can hold onto what is left of summer by showing off some legs, yet still be prepared for those brisk autumn breezes with your sweater! It's the best of both worlds!

Summer to Autumn Transition
We are now at that time of the year where the weather is making it extremely difficult to get dressed. Part of the day is spent feeling cold and the rest of the day you are sweating and trying to dodge the heat! The best solution for this dilemma is the dress+cardigan combo. This type of outfit helps you ease the transition from summer to autumn effortlessly!

Fall Trend Report // Suede Style

Thursday, August 27, 2015

You don't have to break the bank to make this huge fall trend your own. Suede was all over the A/W runways, so it should come to no surprise that this will be making a big appearance in stores this fall. You can choose to go all out and invest or go the more affordable route for this season's suede clothes, shoes, and accessories! My favorite runway shows to back look at for suede inspiration are Ralph Lauren, Chloe, and Burberry!

Affordable Clothes
As far as following this trend for clothing pieces, it is not something I consider to be an investment piece. I would go to places such as H&M, forever21, or Zara for skirts, coats, and tops. Here are a few of my favorite affordable pieces!
Dress // Skirt // Coat

Suede Shoe Steals
Shoes can go either way in terms of choosing to invest or go affordable. If you're feeling the suede over the knee look, I would say go for an affordable dupe. If you're like me you have been lusting over the Stuart Weitzman lowlands, but can't justify the $800 price tag that comes along with it. A great alternative I have gotten is the Sam Edelman look-alikes.
Accessories
Accessories are the item that I am more willing to spend a little extra on, and really invest in, especially when it comes to handbags. For me this season it has to be all about the Chloe bags that are stealing my suede loving heart!

 Top: H&M// Skirt: Topshop// Boots: H&M

 Bag: H&M Watch: Daniel Wellington

I admit, when in comes to color, my wardrobe is seriously lacking it. I find that I am most comfortable in my black and white, and if I'm feeling extra adventurous maybe some gray will get thrown in there too. I am trying to get better at adding color into my outfits, and have found the easiest way to do so is in accessories, especially bags. I found this little gem at H&M and knew it would give me that pop of color that I had been so desperately craving!

Denim + Lace

Saturday, August 8, 2015

Bralette:Aerie// Sandals:Target (similar)//

Jeans: AE// Top:Forever21//

I love pairing the toughness of denim with the delicate look of lace. The two textures create the perfect contrast to each other, especially when the lace is in a lighter color, such as this blush pink.  This look has definitely been a go to for me. The weather has been a bit unpredictable where I am, so mixing the denim with a lightweight top has me ready for whatever weather is thrown my way! The look and practicality of this outfit has kept me reaching for it all summer. As autumn begins to roll around, all I'll need to do is pop on a leather jacket and I'll be ready to take on fall.

Elephants Here

Wednesday, July 8, 2015

Shoes: Vans // Bag: Coach // Watch: Daniel Wellington
Tank: Brandy Melville // Cardigan: H&M // Shorts: Forever21

Today did not feel like a summer day at all. It was chilly all day, so this look was perfect to combat the unpredictable weather. The light cardigan added the perfect amount of warmth, but if it got warmer I was ready to go with the shorts and tank. Keeping comfy and casual on this hump day

Red, White, and Blue

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

With the holiday weekend fast approaching, it's time to buckle down on your Fourth of July outfit. The last thing you want is to look at the clock, see you were supposed to have left 5 minutes ago, and look down to still be in your pajamas. You will go into a frenzy of decisions that must be made, shoes will go flying, closets will get torn apart, rooms will look like disaster zones! Or you could save the hassle and look at the outfits I've put together for you, and see that the crisis has been averted. Just as Americans do best, I have gone all out with the patriotic colors, but in a more wearable way. I've got you covered from super casual to a more dressed up look. I hope these sets help, and that you have a Happy Fourth of July!
